ThePark is open throughout the year, at all time. The Skyline Drive and the public road runnibg through the park, although are closed periodically because of changing weather condition. During the Deer hunting season the park remains closed at night. Still, if the travelers want to enter the park on foot by hiking, then they can always do that.
How to Reach
Air: the nearby airports to Shenandoah park are Dulles International near Washington, D.C. and Charlottesville in Virginia.
Road: If you approach the Shenandoah Park by Roadways then it is just 70 miles away from Washington D.C. It will be better to take the I-66 running west to the US 340. Taking that advance to front royal, the northern entrance of Shenandoah. In order to reach the southern entrance, the Rockfish Gap, take I-64 from Charlotteville.Take US 211 from the west to reach Thornton Gap, the middle entrance by approaching through Luray. In order to reach the Swift Run Gap, take US 33 by heading to the east.
