Visiting Guadalupe Mountains National Park

It also contains the highest point in Texas in the form of Guadalupe Peak. Guadalupe Mountains National Park, spread over 135 sq. miles of area, has got more than 80 miles of trails meandering through woodland canyons and plush riparian springs.
In Guadalupe Mountains National Park, you have a number of attractions to visit. Visit McKittrick Canyon – according to many, this is the most beautiful spot in Texas. Also visit Frijole Ranch, Dog Canyon, Williams Ranch, and the Salt Basin Dunes.
Hiking: Guadalupe Mountains National Park is a hiker’s paradise. There are over 80 miles of hiking trails that you can choose from. During late October or early November, as the park become colorful with the temperature coming down a bit, it becomes a wonderful place to hike. You can choose from a number of wonderful trails like Guadalupe Peak Tail, Devil’s Hall Trail, The Bowl, El Capitan / Salt Basin Overlook Trails, Frijole / Foothill Trails, McKittrick Canyon Trail, McKittrick Canyon Nature Trail, Permian Reef Trail, The Pinery Trail, Smith Spring Trail, Manzanita Spring, Indian Meadow Nature Trail, Marcus Overlook and Lost Peak etc.

Guadalupe Mountains National Park remains open throughout the year.
Headquarters Visitor Center: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Except Christmas Day)
Frijole Ranch: 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. (museum)
McKittrick Canyon: 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. (MST)
How to Reach
Air: The nearest airport is located at El Paso International Airport (ELP), located in the city of El Paso, Texas.
Road: You can reach Guadalupe Mountains National Park by road from El Paso (110 miles) and Carlsbad (56 miles). The park is located on U.S. Highway 62/180.
