Channel Islands National Park– an Introduction
The Channel Islands National Park of California is a fabulous natural destination lying at close proximity to the mainland of California. Visiting Channel Islands National Park
A visit to the Channel Islands National Park act as a welcome break from the city pent. The serene tranquility of the islands will surely gift with some exquisite moments to be cherished with friends and family. There are several things to do in the Channel Islands National Park. One can hike, camp, and go for pleasant snorkeling, kayaking and bird watching trip. You can fulfill all your hobbies, such as photography, painting or just relax to your heart’s content listening to the outing sounds of the nature.
Camping: There are National Park Service camping grounds on San Miguel, Santa Rosa, East Santa Cruz, Anacapa, and Santa Barbara Islands. The reservations for camping should be done on priority basis. The campsites are located in proximity to one another. Trash service is not available, so all the campers should pack out their own trash.
Guided Tours: Variety of guided tours of Channel Islands National Park are available. The rangers and the volunteer naturalists offer guided hiking trips of the island throughout the year. The ranger of the park also conducts a live underwater video program from Anacapa Island on every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoon from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Education programs for students are also offered at the Robert J. Largomarsino Visitor Center in Ventura throughout the year.

Open daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
The Outdoors Santa Barbara Visitor Center:
Open daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
The park is open round the year and closed on Thanksgiving and December 25th.
How to Reach
Air: One can take a flight from Camarillo Airport to the Santa Rosa Islands. The Channel Islands Aviation will assist you in the air travel.
Water: There are plenty of options to explore the islands by waterways. One can avail the boat transportation facility from the Santa Barbara Harbor to all the other islands. There are also boat services between Ventura and Channel Islands harbor.
