Bryce Canyon National Park– an Introduction
The fabulous site of Bryce Canyon National Park of Utah is located at southwestern Utah. The park decked with a marked wilderness can very well be counted among one of the best national parks in U.S. Though this USA National park bears the word “canyon” in it but still it is not actually a canyon. The Bryce Canyon National Park geographically resembles a natural amphitheater. The reasons behind its formation are the erosion along the Paunsaugunt Plateau throughout its eastern edge.
The actual location of the Bryce Canyon National Park is within the Plateau of Colorado. It is one of the most popular U.S national parks in Utah and marks about 1 million footfalls every year. The Bryce Canyon National Park was proclaimed as the national monument of U.S in the year 1923 and was officially designated as a National Park in the year 1928.
Visiting Bryce Canyon National Park
It is indeed a pleasant experience to visit Bryce Canyon National Park. The natural surroundings of the park is indeed wonderful. The unique amphitheatrical shape of the park indeed offers it an exquisite charm. The force of erosion has attributed the entire region with innumerable rock structures bearing a myriad of color. These limestone structures primped with vibrant shades and resembling shapes of various kinds, such as, slot canyons, windows, fans, spires and many others. They are known as hoodoos and they play a great role to add up a picturesque charm to the destination. The flora and fauna variety in Bryce Canyon National Park comprise about 59 species of animals and about 175 species of bird. The animal variety includes mule deer, elk, gray fox, black bears, mountain lions, coyotes, marmots, ground squirrels and pronghorn antelope and several others.
There are few fascinating scenic points dispersed throughout the National Park and if you set for a visit there, do not forget to pay a sojourn to them. The most significant ones happen to be, Sunrise point, sunset point, Inspiration point, Bryce point, Natural Bridge and Rainbow point. They are in true terms, some wonderful spots to observe the sunrise or the sunset and take some fantastic photographs to be cherished forever.
Camping: The North Campground and the Sunset Campground are the two camping grounds within the park. The grounds are decked with facilities such as, drinking water and rest rooms. During summer, pay showers are also available. The Ruby’ Campground and the Bryce Canyon KOA are some of the additional campgrounds in the proximity to the park.
Guided Tours: There are different kinds of guided tours are available for visiting the Bryce Canyon National Park. Most of the guided tours offer transportation facilities from the different regions located at the neighborhood of the park. There are few tours which begin from the park itself while the others start from the towns in the proximity. The different tours have different kinds of itineraries, like some of them are conducted with brief stops, while some others arrange for elaborate hiking schedules providing all the meals in between.

How to Reach
Air: It is very easy to reach the visit Bryce Canyon National Park by taking a flight as the place has a small airport of its own. The Bryce Canyon Airport is although a very small airport and serves the charter flights and the general aviation to some extent. There are also the full fledged airports of Las Vegas and Salt Lake City in nearness to the national park in Utah.
Road: The Utah State Route 63 is the principal road running to the park. This road is also accessible by the Utah State Route 12. The road generally remains open throughout the year and only gets blocked sometimes on account of massive storms during winter.
