Visiting United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

In United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, you have plenty to visit. The biggest attraction of the museum is surely its permanent exhibition – The Holocaust. However, before entering into the permanent exhibitions, you need to acquire an ‘Identity Card’, which explains the story of a Holocaust victim or its survivor.

The Holocaust:

This permanent exhibition of United States Holocaust Memorial Museum spreads over three floors of the museum building. More than 900 artifacts, around 70 video monitors and four theaters with historic film footage and eyewitness testimonies are used to provide a narrative history here. The exhibition is categorized into three parts, viz. Nazi Assault, Final Solution and Last Chapter.

Remember the Children: Daniel’s Story:

It is located on the first floor of the museum. This exhibition is for the children where the history of the Holocaust is presented to the children in such a way that then can understand it.

Tower of Faces:

The Tower of Faces forms a three-story tower where a thousand photographs showcasing the everyday life before the Holocaust are lined up. The subjects of the photographs may vary from family groups, weddings, sporting events, holiday celebrations, and picnics to other aspects of daily life.
