Museum of Science, Boston – an Introduction

The Museum of Science, Boston is a popular museum in U.S., known for its unique collections. Located in Science Park in Boston, Museum of Science has got more than 500 interactive exhibits and also offers several live presentations. Also the shows at the Charles Hayden Planetarium as well as the Mugar Omni IMAX theater add more dimension to the attraction of this U.S. museum. Visiting Museum of Science, Boston

There are a number of attractions in Museum of Science. Visit the Theater of Electricity – it contains the largest Van de Graaff generator in the world. There are live presentations organized at the Current Science & Technology Center. Also visit the to-scale community solar system model. You can see the model’s planets of the Sun, Venus and Mercury on the grounds of the museum.

Museum of Science in Boston has its own film-based exhibit ‘Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination’. In the museum’s entry lobby, one can find the human powered aircraft, MIT Daedalus hanging. Also see Decavitator – the human powered high-speed boat of MIT.

IMAX: It is in Mugar Omni Theater, where the largest film format in the world is projected onto a about five-story tall screen. The experience of watching larger than life images of flora, fauna and others are just awesome.

Planetarium: The Charles Hayden Planetarium offers a wonderful starry dome and exciting shows. You can also see the ‘Friday night stargazing’ organized at the Gilliland Observatory.

Laser: Regular laser shows are organized at the Charles Hayden Planetarium dome during the evening.

Simulator Experience: It is one of the most thrilling experiences that one can have at the Museum of Science in Boston. Stepping on boar the full motion simulator for a dynamic excursion is as exciting as anything. The journey will take you through the space, the deep sea mystery and many more.

Besides these, you can also visit the 3-D Digital Cinema for a wonderful experience. There are also many live presentations organized regularly.

Hours of Operation Regular Hours (through July 4):

Saturday through Thursday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Summer Hours (July 5 – Labor Day):

Saturday through Thursday: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
