California Science Center – an Introduction
California Science Center is the largest hands-on science center in the West Coast. A state agency and also a popular museum in U.S., California Science Center is located in Exposition Park in Los Angeles. Once known as the California Museum of Science and Industry, this U.S. museum was remodeled in 1998 and became known as California Science Center. Currently the California Science Center, along with its Science Center, consists of IMAX Theater and the Sketch Foundation Gallery.
Visiting California Science Center
California Science Center has to offer a number of permanent exhibitions to its visitors, which are full of fun and informative as well. You can learn about human inventions and innovations as well as the process of human things through the hands-on experiences that you will have at the museum’s galleries. There are also some ever-changing special exhibits that demand your special attention and excitement.
Creative World: It is a popular exhibition of California Science Center. In Creative World, you explore the thrills of invention and innovation. Be it the digital imaging, or the solar cars and earthquake-resistant building – your moments at the Creative World will be full of thrill and fun. Explore the exhibits on communication, structures, transportation, as well as the Discovery Room and Tech Lab.
World of Life: Learn about life and its process here. Explore the Energy Factory, Supply Network, Control Center, Defense Line, Life Source, BodyWorks, and Cell Lab etc.
Air and Space Exhibits: Here you will see the exhibits relating to Air and Aircraft, Humans in Space, Mission to the Planets and Stars and Telescopes.
World of Ecology: Here you will come to know more about varied ecosystem of land and sea. Explore the Extreme Zone, Forest Zone, River Zone, Island Zone, Rot Room, Global Zone, L.A. Zone, and Discovery Room.
Science Court: Science court is another popular attraction in California Science Center. You will love exploring the attractions like High Wire Bicycle, Ecology Cliff Climb and Motion-Based Simulator etc.
Operating Hours
California Science Center remains open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Closed: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
